Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone for the interest and contribution to this topic.

Having considered the various issues we are currently looking to recruit three Regional Reps onto the committee, and a Media/PR post. The three regional reps in a first round of nominations are:

Southern England,
Wales,
and Scotland

We will then look at further area / regional reps at the next meeting.

We are also looking to recruit a Media/PR committee member.

These are full committee posts and so we need formal nominations with a seconder prior to co-option onto the committee. Also the person being nominated must be willing to serve on the committee.

These nominations will extend the committee from six to ten people, and I’d like these people to attend the next meeting, on 1st April if possible.

Nominations need to be made prior to the meeting with a closing date of 31st March, prior to the next committee meeting is April 1st at Dovedale, and ideally any co-opted members, and all existing members will be able to attend.

Finally, I will be taking part at the Open5 in The Peak, and will be staying at Ilam Hall YHA. Consequently, I’d be keen to meet up with anyone who wants discuss any UKAR Club stuff on the Saturday evening, hopefully in the pub whilst enjoying a beer!

Hello Everyone,

Just to let you know that I now have nominations from the South and Wales, (currently Nicki Adams, Gary Davies and Heather Jackson)
Our Scottish Nomination is hopefully going to be Dan Gates – subject to agreement, etc.

I’m still waiting for a seconder for Dave MacFarlane for the position of Media/PR rep. Other nominations are welcome, of course, for any of these posts.

One of the agenda items on the forthcoming meeting is the need for further regional posts, areas, roles, etc, so nothing is total fixed or a ‘done deal’.

Nominations don’t formally close until Saturday evening, and there may be justifiable reasons to extend this through to Sunday’s meeting. There appears to be quite a crowd staying either at the campsite in Alstonefield or the YHA at Ilam, so this is an ideal opportunity to meet up and discuss further over the weekend.

The Committee meeting will be around 5pm, somewhere in Alstonefield. Anyone is welcome to attend; we don’t want people feeling excluded, and it’s still early days yet, for UKARClub.
